SEPT 2: The big new ferry pier in Big Buddha, after months of mucking about, is finally open. The new pier was unfortunately built in such shallow water that only rowing boats and sailboards could dock there ;-)

Now a new company has taken over, paid up the money and dredged the water around the pier allowing for larger boats, such as ferries, to dock there.

 The pier provides transport to outlying islands such as Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and the Angthong Archipelago.
